Bugatti’s One-Off Car “La Voiture Noire” Is Automotive Haute Couture
Bugatti announced the “La Voiture Noire,” a one-off, hyper sports car that has made it the most expensive new car of all time.
The French luxury brand Bugatti showcased a one-off, tailor-made creation of a car at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show, the design of which pays homage to Jean Bugatti’s Type 57 SC Atlantic. “La Voiture Noire” propels Bugatti once again as a maker of one of the world’s most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive hyper sports cars.
The all-black design, according to Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann, is more than a modern reinterpretation, but a “feast of aesthetics.” The model has an extended front end and the distinctive Bugatti C-line, which creates an elongated impression with the elegant waistline defining the contours of the coupé.
Every single component of the La Voiture Noire is handcrafted; it is made out of carbon fibre and all the finest materials in the world. The body has a deep black gloss, interrupted only by the ultrafine fibre structure. Furthermore, the model boasts a perfect form that according to Bugatti designer Etienne Salomé had nothing further to improve.
A Bugatti enthusiast has reportedly bought off the car for €11 million, an ode perhaps to the exclusivity and the price of a quality found nowhere else in the world. The new hyper sports car, which is announced as part of Bugatti’s 110th anniversary, is said to reflect Bugatti’s French heritage and identity, embodying the sense of minimalism and refinement displayed through intensification.
Dubbed an “automotive haute couture,” the La Voiture Noire holds the spirit of gran turismo vehicles while also paying tribute to perfect technology and design: all encompassed in a timeless elegance.
