The Debut of Burberry and Vivienne Westwood’s Limited-Edition Collection
A union of punk and heritage that brings together rebellion and tradition in a collaboration that combines Burberry’s vintage check with Vivienne Westwood’s legendary archive.
The well-known fashion brand Burberry collaboration with British designer Vivienne Westwood is here for a limited-edition collection of iconic pieces from Vivienne Westwood’s legendary archive. This collaboration is a union of punk and heritage, rebellion and tradition, the past and the future together in a stylish way.
Burberry’s chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci looks up to Vivienne Westwood and considers her to be one of the first inspirations for he himself to become a designer. Known as a rebel and a punk, she is an unrivalled creative British icon who has inspired and influences legions of designers over the last 50 years.
At the heart of this limited collection is a t-shirt dedicated to a cause that is near and dear to both designer’s hearts with a simple hand-written message from Vivienne herself.
Both designers are inspired by a shared vision to support and promote Cool Earth, a UK-based non-profit organisation that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and climate change. The handwritten message says “Cool Earth has a plan to save the rainforest” and since 2007, Cool Earth has succeeded in saving almost 1 million acres of rainforest in the world.
The collection also features classic Burberry staples like a Vintage Check Silk Shirt, Vintage Check Wool Mini Skirt, Vintage Check Wool Double-Breasted Jacket, and many more. There are even accessories in the collection, from a Pin Detail Vintage Check Wool Beret to a Vintage Check and Patent Lace-up Platform.
The collection brings the classic and structured feel that Burberry is known for with a rebellious nature of Vivienne Westwood to liven up the look.
