Jaguar I-PACE Names ‘Best Electric Vehicle’ at DriverElectric Awards
Having been stealing the attention of the enthusiasts by bringing a number of awards, the Jaguar I-PACE has recently been named ‘Best Electric Vehicle’ at the first ever DrivingElectric Awards.
Since its introduction in March, the I-PACE has notched up more than 20 major global awards, including German Car of the Year and Sunday Times Car of the Year, Auto Express and T3 for its smart electric powertrain and cutting-edge design. Its successive achievement has also gained the name of ‘Game Changer’ by Autocar.
The I-PACE is an all-electric performance SUV that puts Jaguar at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution. Two Jaguar electric motors, producing 400PS and 696Nm, allow I-PACE to deliver all-wheel-drive sports car performance, with 0-60mph taking just 4.5 seconds. State-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries allow for a range of 292 miles (WLTP), with a 0-80% charge taking just 85 minutes from a 50kW outlet. Five seats and zero emissions, making it both a practical and exhilarating SUV, packed full of the latest innovations.
Jaguar’s first all-electric vehicle can achieve a 0-80 percent battery charge in 85-minutes using public DC charging (50kW) and can achieve the same state of charge in just over ten hours when home charging via an AC wall box (7kW) – ideal for overnight charging. A suite of smart range-optimising technology is fitted as standard, including a battery pre-conditioning system: when plugged in the I-PACE will automatically raise (or lower) the temperature of its battery to maximise range ahead of driving away.
The DrivingElectric Awards are judged by the expert editorial team behind all-new consumer-focused electric vehicle website drivingelectric.co.uk.
